# Gameplay
Only the face-up and fully visible cards in the groups of three may be used. In this patience, individual playable cards may be moved descending A sequence of cards where each card is one rank lower than the previous, typically starting with the King and ending with the Ace: King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, …, 2, Ace.
In the Large Fan, it’s important that Aces and followers from the semi-covered cards are played out in time.
As soon as a group of three has been completely resolved and a free space has been created, it is filled with a new group of three from the stock. Free spaces may never be used to move cards in this patience!
When no more moves are possible, the layout is collected according to a specific rule: You always start with the rightmost outer groups of three, push them together face-down and place them under the stock until no more groups of three are laid out. Then you form 16 new groups of three (or fewer if there aren’t that many cards left) from the top of the stock and make the normal moves.
If nothing more is possible again, the process may be repeated once more.
