About patiences

Are you looking for a witty leisure activity that is relaxing and at the same time trains your ability to concentrate or playfully encourages you to think? Then patiences are just the thing for you. No other game offers so many opportunities to escape from everyday life and take a kind of short holiday for your brain.

Patiences are card-laying games that you actually play alone. However, there are also variants for two or more people. Incidentally, they have nothing to do with tarot or fortune-telling, even though both involve card laying.

There are different levels of difficulty for the patiences. Depending on their mood and ‘form of the day’, the patience player decides for themselves which level of difficulty they want to master. Some patiences are pure games of chance, where the outcome depends mainly on the card display and the game can only be influenced to a limited extent. Most patiences, however, require advance planning, thinking, the ability to combine and sometimes a lot of patience. Patience is therefore also the name and origin of the French word patience.

In any case, laying patiences is a useful leisure activity for anyone - regardless of age - who wants to fill their leisure time with games. We wish you good luck and above all: Have fun!
